Are there any specific things or types of material that can’t be used?
We cannot use hard denim or zips in our memory bears, blankets or other keepsakes. Everything else we can try and incorporate into your item. If you are in doubt, please ask!
What type and size of clothing can I send for my bear / blanket / keepsake?
The most common items of clothing we use are shirts, jumpers, babygrows, tops, vests and dresses. Cotton clothing is the best material to work with, but we can use other materials too. In fact a variety of materials means a more unique item! The only items we do not recommend using are hard denim or zips, and if you would like to include knitted items, make sure there are others too.
How many items of clothing should I send?
Between 1 and 4 items are best for a memory bear or keepsake. For a memory blanket, we would recommend at least 15- 20 items of clothing. If you would like each patch to be completely different you would need to send 30 items, and there is an additional £5 charge for anything over 20 items due to the extra work involved.
Blankets – what is an additional extra?
An additional extra is an item that is either too small to be included as patchwork, or an item you would like to be sewn on top of the patchwork.
These items include hats, socks, bibs, mitts, whole outfits, pants, personalised patch, individual letters, hoods from baby grows, rattle socks and baby grow feet. We charge £3 per additional extra.
What is the blanket backed with?
The blanket has two layers of fleece, one plain and one dimple print. We think this makes the blanket perfect: not too thick and not too thin. They really are very cosy!
What happens to the spare material of the items I send?
We will use the best parts of the clothing you send in your memory keepsake or blanket, including logos, text, collars or prints and patterns. We will use our creativity to make sure they bring out the best in your memory keepsake!
The left-over bits of material can be returned to you with your item if you so wish – please let us know when getting in touch.
How do I wash my keepsake?
As they are so special and lovingly hand made, we would recommend you hand wash all keepsake items. If *really* required, blankets can be washed on a cool setting in the washing machine if you don’t use a fast spin cycle. We would recommend against tumble drying them.
How long does it take to have a keepsake made?
This will depend on how many orders we have at any given time. If you have a specific deadline, please ask when getting in touch. As a general rule, we aim to have all bears and keepsakes made within 4 weeks and all blankets completed within 10 weeks of receiving your order & items. We will always try to accommodate any special requests, so please ask away!
Make memories last.
